The Cyprus National Rugby Team hosted a training day at the International School of Paphos on Wednesday 7th December 2011.
Captain Tony Thoma, with the help of leading try-scorer George Agathocleous, newly capped Jack Bilton and uncapped brother Max Bilton took a session which included 34 pupils aged 9. Team Manager Theo Lenos and Sponsorship officer Chris Kafizas where also at hand with their support.
While most of the children have not heard of the sport, let alone pick up a rugby ball, they enjoyed getting used to the basics of the game, and to have the National team lending a hand with many students and staff were left inspired by our tiny country's progress in such little time.
This is just the start with different sessions held around the island. If you want any further details on the development of the sport on the island, please contact Nick Charalambides: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
