During the past two weekends (13 and 20 September), our World Rugby Educator, Rick Wadmore, commenced the coaching journey of seven keen individuals by delivering two essential courses: World Rugby Activate and the Level 1 Coaching Course.

Activate
The Activate programme is a comprehensive physical preparation resource specifically designed for coaches aiming to enhance the physical readiness of their players for the demanding requirements of rugby. This innovative programme encompasses a variety of training modules that focus on improving strength, agility, endurance and flexibility, all of which are crucial attributes for rugby players. Coaches utilising the Activate programme can expect to find a structured approach that includes detailed warm-up routines, injury prevention strategies, and conditioning exercises tailored to the unique demands of the sport. The programme emphasises functional movements that mimic the actions players will encounter during a match, ensuring that athletes not only build strength but also develop the necessary skills to perform effectively on the field.
Level 1 Coaching
The World Rugby Introduction to Coaching (Level 1) is a non-assessed, attendance-based, full-day course for novice rugby coaches. It provides practical-based training on the basics of coaching, including identifying skill faults, planning and delivering sessions, understanding the laws of the game and managing risk.
