Match Cancellation: Cyprus v Andorra

It is with regret that the Cyprus Rugby Federation announces the cancellation of our upcoming international match against Andorra, scheduled for Saturday 14 March 2026.

Although the Cyprus government has confirmed that it is safe to proceed with the game, the governments of France, Spain and Andorra are currently advising their citizens to travel to Cyprus only if it is absolutely imperative. As a result, following a meeting with Rugby Europe and the Andorra Rugby Federation, it was decided to invoke force majeure. The intention is to try to postpone the fixture, however if a new date cannot be agreed, the match will unfortunately be cancelled entirely.

We would like to extend our most sincere apologies to all of our dedicated fans. We know how much you were looking forward to attending the game to support the Mighty Mouflons and we share in your deep disappointment. Any fans who have purchased tickets will receive a full refund automatically within 7-10 business days.

The Cyprus Rugby Federation also wants to formally acknowledge the immense dedication of everyone who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes. A tremendous amount of hard work goes into preparing for these international fixtures and we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering commitment shown by our entire rugby family.

Furthermore, we wish to express our gratitude to Federació Andorrana de Rugbi (Andorra Rugby) and Rugby Europe for their understanding, support and clear communication throughout this difficult decision-making process. We deeply value our relationship with them and are already looking forward to next season, when we will travel to Andorra to meet them on the pitch.

Ultimately, while the cancellation of a rugby match pales in comparison to the wider global events unfolding, it is a sad time for our sport locally. We send our thoughts to all those affected by the ongoing conflicts and sincerely wish for a swift return to peace for all.
